Our Professional Staff

Dr. Al Helbig is a Pierre native blessed to be able to serve the community he grew up in. Dr. Helbig holds a B.A. in biology and communication disorders from Augustana College as well as a doctorate in audiology (AuD) from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.  He enjoys serving his community’s hearing needs and specializes in diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing aid fitting, and comprehensive balance assessment.

Born in Wyoming, but grew up in all places in-between Alaska and South Dakota, Cori has resided in Pierre since 2011. In 2017, she completed her training as a hearing instrument specialist through the International Institute of Hearing Instrument Studies. She is licensed by the state of South Dakota Board of Hearing Aid Dispensers and Audiologists and strives to keep up with all aspects of technology to better assist our patients. When she's not in the office, Cori can be found in her Jeep with her camera close by, looking for the next photo to take.

Sonya was born and raised in Harrold, SD. She joined the Audiology Associates team in 2018 and currently serves as the Practice Manager. Sonya serves a multitude of roles including navigating insurance coverage, Care Credit enrollment, as well as bouncing between hearing aid maintenance and scheduling (she wears many hats at our office!).  When not in the office, you can find Sonya taking care of her family or riding horse.

Jessicia, also known as Jesse, was born in Wyoming but raised in South Dakota most of her life. She joined Audiology Associates in September 2024 and is the smiling face that you will see at the front desk or the pleasant voice you hear on the phone. Jessicia’s duties include scheduling patients, answering phone calls, managing insurances, and assisting with hearing aid needs. In her free time, she loves to hunt, fish, farm, take care of livestock and enjoy her family time.
